Election Timeline
All dates are relative to E-Day (the Election-AGM), as prescribed by the KTF Election Regulations, Annexure E.
Preparation Phase
EC writes to 10 seconding entities requesting IEC nominees
Executive Committee / President
Letters sent to DCI, HELB, EACC, CRB, KRA, IEBC, Judiciary, ICPAK, ICS, and a religious organisation (NCCK/SUPKEM) requesting 2 nominees each
EGM to adopt Election Regulations & appoint IEC
Executive Committee / General Assembly
Extraordinary General Meeting convened per Art 4.4, KTF Constitution

IEC
IEC must determine all disputes within 30 days. Further appeal to Sports Disputes Tribunal, then CAS (Art 9.5).
E-Day = Election-AGM date. E - 90 = 90 days before E-Day. E + 7 = 7 days after E-Day. All timelines per KTF Election Regulations (Art 4.3.2, KTF Constitution), Kenya Sports Act 2013 (Second Schedule), and Sports Registrar Regulations 2016 (Part VI, Reg 20).
Election Process
Our elections follow the Kenya Sports Act 2013 guidelines and ensure democratic, transparent, and fair representation.
Membership Verification
Only registered members in good standing are eligible to nominate or be nominated. Verify your membership status and ensure all dues are paid.
Nomination Submission
Submit your nomination online with all required documents including academic certificates, professional certifications (CPA(K) for Treasurer, CPS(K) for Secretary where applicable), Chapter 6 clearances (DCI, KRA, EACC, CRB, HELB), nomination forms signed by proposers and seconders, and payment of the prescribed nomination fee.
Vetting & Clearance
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) reviews all nominations for compliance with eligibility requirements, including verification of professional qualifications and Chapter 6 clearances. Candidates are notified of their clearance status.
Campaigns
Cleared candidates participate in official campaign activities including member forums, debates, and outreach. Campaign guidelines must be strictly followed.
Voting
All voting (digital and physical) takes place from E-7 to E-3, supervised by the IEC. E-Day is reserved exclusively for results verification and declaration at the Election-AGM.

Eligibility Requirements
General Requirements
- Kenyan citizen of legal age (18+)
- Registered KTF member for at least 2 years
- Member in good standing (no outstanding dues)
- Not declared bankrupt
- No criminal conviction
Chapter 6 Clearances
As per the Kenya Constitution Chapter 6, all candidates must provide:

- EACCEthics & Anti-Corruption Clearance
- CRBCredit Reference Bureau Report
- HELBHELB Clearance Certificate
Professional Qualifications
Certain positions require specific professional qualifications (Election Regulations §16):
- PresidentUniversity degree, 5+ years leadership experience, Kenyan citizen, age 30-70
- SecretaryCPS(K) from ICS Kenya or degree in law/admin, 3+ years governance experience
- TreasurerCPA(K) from ICPAK or degree in accounting/finance, 3+ years financial management
- Tech. Dir.Recognised coaching certification or sports science degree, 3+ years coaching experience
